This event marked the launch of the Collaboration Grants Report, reflecting on five years of trust-based, collaborative grantmaking to advance women’s and girls’ rights globally. The program explored how shared decision-making can drive sustained impact, strengthen movements, and fund bold solutions.
Speakers included: • Rose Marandu, Women’s Fund Tanzania • Irena Ehrlich, Global Fund for Women • Laila Alodaat, Prospera INWF • Althea Anderson, William and Flora Hewlett Foundation • Maitri Morarji, Foundation for a Just Society • Shama Dossa, PhD & Phoebe So, Fenomenal Funds Co-Leads • Rebecca Hallin, KIT Royal Tropical Institute
In September 2023 we partnered with Funding For Real Change, an initiative of two funder networks: the EDGE Funders Alliance and Ariadne, and supported by the Ford Foundation. The initiative sought to both acknowledge that while limited, project based funding is a frequent approach to grantmaking, models focused on core and multi-year support are becoming more common and there is much to learn from them. The webinar is an engaging discussion on how feminist funding is transforming philanthropic practice to meet movements’ needs during unprecedented challenges. Speakers include Zanele Sibanda from Fenomenal Funds, Rose Marandu of Women Fund Tanzania Trust, and Betsy Hoody from Wellspring.
