Resilience and Collaboration: Lessons from the Fenomenal Funds Initiative

What happens when feminist funds are trusted to invest in themselves? Proven Pathways to Resilience explores the powerful results of resourcing organizational infrastructure across 44 women’s funds.

This second and final report from Fenomenal Funds builds on Reimagining Power to Build Resilience, offering new data and deeper insights into how adaptability, collaboration, and care strengthen movements. It distills what worked, why it mattered, and how funders can join in.

As crises accelerate, this report offers a timely and practical roadmap for transformative funding grounded in feminist values.

Resilience and Collaboration: Lessons from the Fenomenal Funds Initiative

As part of our commitment to learning and reflection, Fenomenal Funds partnered with KIT Institute from mid-2023 to early 2025 to co-create and implement a participatory learning process. Together with initiative stakeholders, KIT helped document outcomes and surface insights grounded in the lived experiences of the women’s funds participating in the initiative. This process drew on feminist and participatory methodologies that aligned with the values at the heart of our work.

Reimagining Power to Build Resilience es un informe que comparte los aspectos más destacados y los aprendizajes de la capacidad del modelo de los Fenomenal Funds para alterar las relaciones de poder tradicionales de la filantropía, centrándose especialmente en cómo nuestras Subvenciones de Resiliencia 2021-2022 ayudaron a los Fenomenal Funds a responder al inicio de la pandemia de COVID-19 de formas que no habrían sido posibles con otro tipo de modelo.
