Nina Madsen works as a Program Officer at the Open Society Foundations since January 2018. Prior to that, she worked as an independent consultant on gender equality and human rights for organizations such as UN Women Brazil and Together for Girls, among others. Before that, Nina was co-director of the Brazilian feminist organization CFEMEA. She also worked at the Brazilian Ministry of Policies for Women between 2008 and 2011, where she conceptualized and managed the Observatory for Gender Equality, and at UNIFEM (currently UN Women). Nina holds a Ph.D in Sociology from the University of Brasilia, Brazil.
